Plaine Products Shampoo Review: Sustainable Liquid Shampoo

A Review of The Goods

So we know single use plastic is a problem. And we probably know that Americans throw out more than half a billion shampoo and conditioner bottles a year. But, what to do about it? If you have long, thick hair you’ve probably found that shampoo bars aren’t for you. This Plaine Products Shampoo review should lay your mind to rest.

Many sustainable shampoo brands are difficult to apply, or melt in the shower…ahem, bars. Others require multistep processes, or leave your hair with a filmy residue. Plaine Products dodges all those pit falls with one big aluminum can and an airy formula.

I’ve been hearing about this brand for a while now, and am pretty bummed it took this long to give them a shot. While it definitely is on the premium side of pricing, I’m here to tell ya—worth it. Usually, you’re sacrificing a little something by moving to a greener brand, but not here.

The shampoo smells wonderful, we suggest the citrus and lavender option if you can tolerate aromas.

It suds up enough to feel like a good wash, which has been a notable problem with natural products. Yes, the suds from chemical washes are often added in with dirty ingredients because we like the suds. But, you know, we like the suds.

My hair feels light and bouncy after a shower, another surprise in the realm of sustainable shampoo. No residue is left, and my thin strands feel moisturized, but not weighed down. Thicker haired beauties report the same, with no added tangles.
