When trying to green up your shower, one of the easiest changes might be your body wash. The old fashioned bars of soap are certainly a cleaner option—no plastic, a lighter load to ship—but the residue left by traditional soap bars left on your skin and your shower turns many would be user off. Everist tackles this problem with their body wash concentrate.

It might feel a bit odd carrying a tube of toothpaste into the bath, but that’s how Everist makes such a sustainable impact. By removing the water (and therefore shipping weight) and utilizing the aluminum packaging already available on the market to sidestep plastic bottles, Everist slashes emissions even before we dig in to what’s inside the tube.

There’s a bit of a learning curve to using this waterless body wash. Firstly, getting it out of the tube can prove a bit challenging after the first few uses, but the included key helps draw out the thick product. After you squeeze about an inch out of the tube, it suds up really nicely. The fragrance is nice, only coming from essential oils, and leaves a subtle sent behind.

Everist claims that the nourishing qualities of the product makes lotion a thing of the past. While it does leave the skin feeling soft, I won’t be getting rid of my body cream any time soon. Overall, this body wash concentrate requires a bit more work than your average, but the emissions savings plus being able to take a full sized body wash in your carry on means I’ll certainly be reaching for another tube soon.
